Despite COVID-19, the BPU continues all services as usual, with two exceptions: our customer service lobby is closed but people can pay online, by phone or by checks/money orders in drop boxes; and our yard waste bag collection service is suspended until further notice so our employees can concentrate on garbage and recycling collection.
The BPU is a utility and therefore an essential service. We have employees taking care of electric, water, wastewater, district heating and garbage/recycling (solid waste) services.
Although regular billing continues, the BPU is not disconnecting services for non-payment during this COVID-19 health period.
Customer Service continues to be available by phone at 661-1660. The Garbage Hotline is being staffed at 661-1651 (staff is restricted, so leave a message if you get voicemail and you will receive a call back).
