State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) Grants $3 Million to BPU for Water Line Replacement

The Peterson Building houses BPU Water Division employees & equipment.

The State EFC has Awarded $3 million to the BPU to replace water lines on portions of the following streets in Jamestown:  

  • Washington
  • Hazeltine
  • May 
  • Strong
  • Juliet
  • Roland
  •  Glenview
  •  LaSalle
  • Mercury Lane
  • South Everett
  •  Elm 
  • Shady Lane
  • Harvard
  • Connecticut
  •  West End
  •  West 18th
  • Langford
  • Gwendolin 
  • West Virginia Boulevard

Details and paperwork will be worked out with the EFC over the coming six months, with the work expected to take place over a 2-3 year period.  The BPU must match the grant with $2 Million.  The grant is awarded through the Water Infrastructure Improvement Act and the Intermunicipal Water Infrastructure Grant Program to municipalities for infrastructure  projects that protect public health or improve water quality.  The BPU submitted the grant application to be included in the funding program.
