Rebate & Energy Offers for Businesses
Lighting & Motor Rebates for Commercial and Industrial Customers
The BPU offers commercial and industrial customers financial incentives (rebates) for energy efficiency projects. The program’s goal is to promote investment in new high quality lighting and motor equipment that operates at a very high level of electrical efficiency.
To receive your rebate the following must be submitted:
- A copy of the dated invoice, clearly showing equipment type and quantity
- A copy of your businesses’ recent BPU electric bill
- Lighting and Motor Rebate Form
- Sufficient technical product documentation showing that equipment meets specifications

101 to 200 Watts: $75 each
201 Watts or Greater: $100 each
|Occupancy Sensors||Each unit shall be hardwired, passive infrared and / or ultrasonic. Manual on override capability is not eligible.

|National Electrical Manufactures Association (NEMA) Premium Efficiency Motors 1 to 200 HP||Visit the NEMA website for qualifying equipment.||1 to 7.5 HP: $20 per HP
10 to 25 HP: $15 per HP
30 to 100 HP: $7.50 per HP
125 to 200 HP: $5 per HP
|Variable Speed Drives (VSD) for Single-speed Motors||Must submit documentation of motor HP that the drive is controlling||1 to 10 HP: $150 per HP
15 to 25 HP: $100 per HP
30 to 50 HP: $75 per HP
60 to 100 HP: $50 per HP
|Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
||Must be new Energy Star rated equipment

General Terms & Conditions
The Jamestown BPU may choose to inspect locations to verify satisfactory completion of the projects and to measure and verify energy savings. Misrepresentation of installation location or measure eligibility may result in forfeiture of the incentive award and prosecution. Customers are responsible for any such tax implications associated with reimbursement. The BPU is not responsible for any tax consequences associated with any payments. The BPU assumes no responsibility for performance of equipment and equipment warranty. The equipment must be purchased new and installed within 90 days of the purchase date. The customer relieves the BPU of all liability associated with this project. The BPU reserves the right to terminate or modify this program at any time.
