The Department of Environmental Conservation granted a permit allowing the BPU to upgrade its Waste Water Treatment Plant. The work will retire the rotating biological contactors (RBCs) and upgrade the existing trickling filters. Deputy General Manager Randall Peterson is in charge of the project, with James Butler acting as on-site engineer. Bids were received in October, 2007, and work is expected to get underway in the late spring, 2008.
