Glass Guidelines

CLEAR GLASS containers should be rinsed clean and loose labels and lids should be removed.

COLORED GLASS is not being taken by the transfer station at this time; therefore, it may be discarded in your garbage. Mixing colored glass with the clear glass will contaminate the recyclable load.

Broken dishes, glasses and window glass are considered garbage and should not be placed with the recycling. To prevent injury, please wrap these items carefully before discarding.

Metal Can Guidelines

Metal cans should be washed clean and have loose labels removed. Top and bottom lids may be cut away and the cans flattened for easier storage.

Soda cans should be checked for NY State bottle deposit markings and placed in the recycling load only if there is no deposit to be reclaimed.
