Glass Guidelines

CLEAR GLASS containers should be rinsed clean and loose labels and lids should be removed.

COLORED GLASS may either be taken to the transfer station or discarded in your garbage, as mingling it with the clear glass will contaminate the recyclable load.

Broken dishes, glasses and window glass are considered garbage and should not be placed with the recycling. To prevent injury, please wrap these items carefully before discarding.

Cardboard Guidelines

Corrugated cardboard consists of two pieces of heavy paper (usually brown) with a wavy layer in between. Moving and mailing boxes are usually corrugated cardboard NOT cereal and shirt boxes.

Corrugated cardboard will be picked up at the curb THE SAME WEEK as glass recyclables. Cardboard should be flattened, folded and placed in the yellow container, or if too large, placed in a cardboard box next to the yellow container containing the glass recyclables.

PIZZA BOXES ARE CONSIDERED DIRTY AND SHOULD BE BROKEN DOWN AND PUT IN REGULAR GARBAGE BAGS.
