Week of September 20, 2009 (one week only)
Plastic recyclables will be picked up during this week.



  • All loose items should be bagged and placed neatly at the curb.
  • There should not be any trash that can fall or blow into the street.
  • Please place cleanup items at the curb after 6:00 P.M. the evening before your normal garbage pickup.
  • Items to be picked up curbside include: clothes, dishes, pots & pans, toys, garden hoses, lamps, small appliances, small pieces of carpet, microwave ovens and portable televisions.
  • Small items must be contained in bags.
  • WOOD and ALL-METAL ITEMS may be taken to the landfill or transfer station.
  • YARD WASTE may be taken to the Fluvanna Avenue Yard Waste Site.

  • The BPU would like to remind our customers of proper garbage placement at the curb. The picture below is an example of what is not acceptable and an additional fee will be added to your bill for trash left in this manor. This customer was charged $75.00.




    Week of May 3, 2009 through May 16, 2009

  • NO RECYCLABLES WILL BE COLLECTED WEEK OF MAY 3, 2009
  • Plastic recyclables will be picked up week of May 10, 2009.

  • ACCEPTED ITEMS (weighing less than 40 pounds each) - clothes, dishes, glassware, pots & pans, microwaves, portable TVs, carpet remnants, lawn furniture.

    METAL - Take to South County Transfer Station, South Work Street in Falconer
    Tuesday - Saturday, 7:00AM - 3:00PM

    CARDBOARD - Please hold your cardboard until the week of June 3rd (Spring) or October 8th (Fall) and place it on the curb with your glass.
