New substation located on Allen Street

BPU linemen and outside electricians have transfered electrical service to a new substation located on Allen Street. Linemen Jeff Ohlsson and Dennis Bouquin are pictured (left to right) activating an electrical circuit at the new substation which primarily serves industrial customers. BPU electrical engineer and project engineer David Paterniti explained that the new substation now contains updated equipment housed in the brick building original to the substation site. According to Paterniti, the impact for BPU customers will be improved reliability in that service area. The current building, on the site- has been converted to storage.
