Electrical Engineer

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities seeks an Electrical Engineer. This job involves electrical engineering work in planning for operations and implementing projects in the power generation and/or transmission/distribution of electric energy at the Board of Public Utilities. It includes supervising the operation and maintenance of high pressure steam boilers, turbine-generators, an LM 6000 gas turbine and auxiliary equipment. May also supervise the maintenance and repair of electrical distribution lines, substations and T&D infrastructure. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the T&D Manager or Power Plant Supervisor.

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least one academic course in power systems at time of application is required. Such a course must include knowledge and theory of transmission, distribution or generation of power. In addition, at least four (4) years of relevant job experience is desired but not required.
