Flex Tech Energy Audits Flex Tech energy audits are available for large industrial and commercial Jamestown BPU electric customers who pay more than $30,000 in electric bills a year. Flex Tech audits take a holistic approach to assessing the consumption of a business, looking at the consumption of water, natural gas, and electricity. Some of the major areas that are assessed in the audit include, but are not limited to: boilers, air compressors, lighting, electric motors, variable speed drives, and load analysis. As a result of the audit, recommendations are made for improvements for the facility. The typical recommendations have paybacks periods that are less than ten years, with some as short as one year. Under this program New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), Jamestown BPU, and the applicant business split the cost of the audit.
