Jamestown City Mayor Sam Teresi appointed City Councilman Vincent DeJoy to the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities, effective January 1, 2008.
The BPU Board Member is Physican/Marketing Liaison with the Windsong Radiology Group, PC. A former senior sales representative for Energy Curtailment Specialists Inc. DeJoy brings with him more than 18 years of experience in sales in the pharmaceutical industry.
DeJoy is a biology graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Geneseo. He has undertaken post-graduate work in recombinant gene technology at SUNY Fredonia and in biomedical computing at the Rochester Institute of Technology
A Jamestown High School graduate, DeJoy, in the early 1990s, also developed, owned and operated Stage Left Bistro, formerly located adjacent to the Reg Lenna Civic Center in Downtown Jamestown. He managed and marketed Jamestown Open MRI on Fairmount Avenue.
The City Councilman and BPU Board member has participated in the community as a board member of the Downtown Jamestown Development Corporation in 1991-93. He served on the Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency from 2001– to 2002. He is also a former president of the Greater Jamestown AM Rotary Club of which he is a charter member. Currently, he serves on the Amhurst Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
DeJoy is a member of the St. Luke's Church Vestry. He is married with three children.
