Wayne J. Rishell

Wayne J. Rishell, CPA, was appointed to the Board of Public Utilities by Mayor Sam Teresi in January, 2002. He is employed as an accounting and auditing manager at the Jamestown office of certified public accounting firm, Buffamante, Whipple, Buttafaro, P.C. (BWB) at 201 W. Third Street, Jamestown. Wayne joined BPU after years of experience in public accounting with Ernst & Young, where he worked in the audit of for-profit, not-for-profit and healthcare entities.

A Jamestown Community College graduate, Mr. Rishell earned his Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and his Masters in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University at Behrend.

Mr. Rishell’s professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Public Accountants. He is a member of Zion Covenant Church, where he has served on various committees. Wayne serves as the Finance Committee Chair for the board of directors of the BPU. He also serves on the board of directors for the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County.

Wayne and his wife Victoria are natives of Jamestown where they continue to live.
